A typical day starts with a warm welcome for everyone . You will be given a clear structure for the day and we will make sure you feel comfortable, confident and safe to take part in the planned activities. Usually the activities start by checking in on the animals. You will be able to give them their breakfast, top up their water and make their housing clean and fresh. If you wish you can spend some time getting to know their individual personalities by giving them some extra care and attention. There is then a mid-morning break for a drink and a snack.
Before lunch you will have a go at tackling either a nature based craft activity, or some general land management to promote wildlife. You can then tell everyone what you have been up to over your packed lunch.
The afternoon usually starts in the market garden. Depending on the season you might be planting seeds or picking vegetables and flowers to take home. You could decorate pots to sell in or pop up shop, or help lay new paths for people that have limited mobility. Alternatively, you might like to take some time out to enjoy the surrounding, look at a book, or listen to some music.
Before you leave for home, you will get together with the rest of the group and be encouraged to think about everything you have achieved throughout the day. You will be surprised just how many new things you will have tried and we will celebrate this with you.
